“The Blueprint” – A Must Read

If you haven’t yet read the book The Blueprint: How Democrats Won Colorado (and Why Republicans Everywhere Should Care), then you need to.  Co-author Adam Schrager was the keynote speaker in Colorado Springs last night.  He and co-author Rob Witwer have researched and compiled the story and details behind the progressive takeover of Colorado and several other government bodies across the nation.

Read the book.  If you have opportunity to hear either Mr. Schrager or Mr. Witwer speak, do it.  You will know why it’s imperative that every citizen who loves freedom must become a foot soldier for freedom starting right now.  The way it’s always been done is now a laughable mouse wheel of insanity.  The rules of this game have changed dramatically, and if we’re going to have any hopes to play and win for freedom, we have to know this new game well.

At this very moment, I can say this with confidence:   The Republican party won’t make it happen…  Conservative organizations and think tanks won’t make it happen…  Conservative candidates, activists, pundits, talk show hosts, bloggers… none of these can make it happen on their own.  It will take a concerted, unified effort between every freedom loving citizen, organization, and candidate.

It requires a long term focus.  It requires taking personal ownership of our local communities, state, and nation.  It requires a long term and patient understanding that candidates come and candidates go.   It requires looking beyond our candidates of choice during these contentious and often times destructive primary battles.  It requires steadfast commitment to the vision of freedom.

It requires letting go of blame… and instead, discovering and appropriating our own individual responsibility in making victory happen for freedom.  Individual responsibility… isn’t that what made this nation great in the first place?

Special thanks to Adam Schrager for driving all the way to Colorado Springs to educate us last night.  He is a candid and extremely well-informed author and speaker on the subject.

Special thanks also to the Mason Jar Restaurant for allowing us to pop the walls out with our packed-in crowd.  Not only was it standing-room only, but some of us were sitting on the floor!

Special thanks to all who came out in the rainy weather to join us… you’re the ones who will make it happen.

“The Blueprint” Co-Author to be Keynote Speaker in Colorado Springs 8/3/10

Do you want to know how Colorado REALLY turned from red to blue?

Do you want to know what YOU can do to flip it back to red?

Do you want to know what to expect from the LEFT in the general election this year?

_____________

YOU NEED TO KNOW THEIR GAME PLAN…

FROM SOMEONE WHO KNOWS…

ADAM SCHRAGER, CO-AUTHOR OF “The Blueprint” KNOWS…

Join me Tuesday, August 3rd to learn the left’s election game plan from Mr. Adam Schrager.  Mr. Schrager is co-author of the book “The Blueprint – How the Democrats Won Colorado (and Why Republicans Everywhere Should Care)”

ABOUT THE BOOK

The Blueprint takes you inside the smoke-free backrooms of progressive politics, where megadonors and savvy strategists created a plan to turn the tide of American elections.  With unprecedented access to players on both sides of the aisle, the authors offer what Netroots Nation chairman Adam Bonin calls “an essential, behind-the-scenes take” on the powerful but often invisible groups that are shaping public policy in sate capitols from coast to coast.

In four short years, Colorado Republicans experienced one of the most stunning reversals of political fortune in American history.  It was, in the words of former Colorado Governor Bill Owens, “a wake-up call for national Republicans.”  In Colorado, Democrats believe they have found the blueprint for creating a permanent political infrastructure across the nation.  At a time when political stakes are higher than ever, the direction of the nation may turn on how well Democrats across the country replicate the model—and how well Republicans can respond to it.  Featuring up-to-the minute analysis, including an epilogue exploring the upcoming midterm elections, The Blueprint is the must-read political book of the season.

Tea Party Panel at the Western Conservative Summit 2010

I was given the privilege and honor to sit on the Tea Party panel at the Western Conservative Summit 2010 in Lone Tree, Colorado last Saturday July 10th, 2010.

Funny thing is, I’m no fan of the term “tea party” applied as a label to this incredible freedom revival all across our land.  Just wraps it up and constricts it way too tightly!  I covered that briefly, PLUS I got to bring my football and share the big picture vision of the Super Bowl for freedom in 2010.

I shared the panel with John Eastman, William Owens from the Tea Party Express, and Charles Patricoff from Hear Us Now.  We each offered our own unique perspectives to the movement that will stop the liberal agenda in its tracks.

Coalition for a Conservative Majority was a co-sponsor of the event with a booth promoting the Colorado Right to Health Care Choice ballot initiative.

The Centennial Institute was the organizer of this incredible event.  The list of speakers was phenomenal, and each delivered inspiration, truth, and information we all took with us to turn this state and nation red again.  I hear plans are already in the works for the second annual summit in 2011.  I expect it to be every bit as fabulous as the first one.

Special thanks to John Andrews of the Centennial Institute for giving me the opportunity to sit on the panel, AND for organizing this great event.

Thanks to Laurie Bratten for the following  photo:

Thanks to Jimmie Butler for taking the following photos (last 3).

Experience WWII As a Child Survivor… See “Bomber’s Moon” Saturday 4/24/10

You don’t want to miss this unique World War II documentary Bomber’s Moon: Girls Beneath the Bombs at the Colorado Springs Indie Spirit Film Festival this upcoming weekend April 24th.  I saw Bombers Moon when it first aired on PBS in 2009…. definitely a film worth seeing.

This is a documentary about women whose childhoods were stolen by the second World War. Specifically, each of these women witnessed first-hand the bombing of their respective homelands. Germany, England, Austria and Japan, each suffered under constant bombardment. These nine women bring to life the awe, fear, confusion and sense of loss that came with being a little girl in the midst of a global conflict.

You’ll experience World War II as if you had been there as a child.  All but one of the women in the film currently reside in Colorado, bringing a very reachable experience from these World War II survivors.  Local veteran Jim Fore, whom many have seen at tea parties and other freedom events, appears in the film.  The man who dropped the A-bomb, Paul Tibbets, also appears in the film.

Bomber’s Moon will be preceeded by “In Times Of War,” a short story of Colorado Veterans during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.  Films start at 7:15 on Saturday the 24th.  Tickets are $10.00 and can be purchased at the door 15 minutes before showing.  Seating is limited and priority is given to festival pass holders.  Special “live” appearances by guest Veterans who appear in “Bomber’s Moon.”

Upcoming Colorado Tax Day Tea Parties ~ Thursday April 15, 2010

If you’re in Colorado and you love freedom, you’ve got to attend the 2010 Tax Day Tea Party nearest you.  Below is the list of April 15th scheduled events across the state.

This year, invite at least 3 people whom you know have never attended a freedom event before.  Not only would that potentially quadruple last year’s attendance, but it’s a way to motivate and inspire the un-involved to engage in this historical movement for freedom.  Let’s ignite that spark of liberty within them!

Remember:  Take your still and video cameras… send me photos and comments from each tea party, and I will post them here.  Generally speaking, the press has grossly underestimated attendance at these events.  It is now up to we the people to be the media.  Take lots of photos, and we together we will show the nation what incredible patriots are moving to protect freedom.

See you on tax day – enjoy the comraderie!

Photos from 33 Minutes Screening & Discussion Panel

In case you missed Colorado Springs’ 33 Minutes film screening and National Defense Discussion Panel, here are photographs from the event shot by Paul D deBerjois.  The panel discussion was filmed… once available I will post it.

The film and the panel were extremely informative…  this is an issue none of us can afford to overlook.  The external threats are real and very present.  Please join me and continually lift up this nation in prayer.

So many threats to freedom… she can never rest.

Some food-for-thought quotes I found while posting tonight…

“The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.”  ~ Thomas Jefferson

“The defence policy of the United States is based on a simple premise: The United States does not start fights. We will never be an aggressor. We maintain our strength in order to deter and defend against aggression – to preserve freedom and peace. … This is why I’m speaking to you tonight – to urge you to tell your Senators and Congressmen that you know we must continue to restore our military strength. If we stop in midstream, we will send a signal of decline, of lessened will, to friends and adversaries alike. Free people must voluntarily, through open debate and democratic means, meet the challenge that totalitarians pose by compulsion. It’s up to us, in our time, to choose and choose wisely between the hard but necessary task of preserving peace and freedom and the temptation to ignore our duty and blindly hope for the best while the enemies of freedom grow stronger day by day.” ~ Ronald Reagan ~ Excerpts from his National Security Speech March 23, 1983

President Reagan’s words will always be relevant.
