Someone requested I include a copy of my speech… okay… for what it’s worth, here it is:
I’m an American patriot and my goal and passion is to inform, equip, and network American patriots just like you into a united front against the liberal agenda.
A serious battle for our nation began very locally right here in Colorado back in 2004 by the infamous Gang of Four. If you haven’t heard of them, suffice it to say that 4 liberal millionaires turned Colorado from red to blue… and then they successfully reached out to many other states and did likewise, which has directly affected our current national political landscape. It’s been called the Colorado model.
That battle began right here… and you know what? I intend to end the battle right here… in victory for our founding principles… for freedom. When I saw the government-run health care train coming, I made it my personal goal to stop it. I’ll explain more on why health care is such a hot topic for me in a moment.
For the last year I’ve helped build the Coalition for a Conservative Majority in Colorado Springs. Myself and our leadership team are working to build a coalition of organizations dedicated to taking back our country. Have you ever learned of an event but it’s too late for you to attend because you didn’t know soon enough? Have you ever wanted to know more about all the conservative groups and events in the community? CCM is working to answer and provide solutions to these issues, so that very soon you will see groups and organizations working together on events and issues, like the tea party today, to amplify the voice of Americans who are fed up with the devastating path Washington is taking our country… United by common interests to defeat the real threat of our country, our own government.
For the same year that I’ve helped build CCM, I’ve been studying the battle against socialized healthcare. I’m involved with a National Health Care coalition, which allows me frequent communication with folks both on Capitol Hill and with other grassroots groups around the nation regarding the real status of health care… which isn’t always reflected truthfully in our media.
I created an online cause called Stop Obama’s Healthcare Plan, which has over 110,000 members as of today. I compile email alerts and send them to those members so they’re equipped to act against healthcare. I’ve also been developing a workshop I call Political Power Tools… that equips ordinary folks like you and me to take our nation back…. At all levels of government.
I’ve recently been given the privilege of attending an intensive leadership and founding principles class so I can defend and promote those same principles to all of you… and in turn, equip you to do likewise. But my largest single-issue focus has been to stop socialized healthcare from coming to USA.
My objective today is this: I want to empower you… and motivate you… each and every one of you here… to be informed… to be equipped… to build the conservative network from right here within the heart of Colorado… and I want you to know in your hearts that we the people really do have the power to take it all back. I want you to be empowered to become mobilized, effective Patriots… and infect you to go viral with it… sneeze your true hope in our founding principles upon others… therein lies the power to take this nation back to its most precious founding principles.
Enough about me… I want to hear from you: What do you think is the greatest political crisis of our day?
Although in their own right these are each great crises for us as Americans.… I personally believe the greatest political crisis of our day is that our US Constitution and Declaration of Independence have become virtually irrelevant in our lives, our study of history, in our law, and public policy. It’s so bad that revisionist history has hijacked our founding documents and fooled most of us into believing things about them that aren’t true. Someone once said “If I can change your historical context, I can change your view of the present.” He who controls the past , controls the future.
In large part, it’s why we’re in this mess today. Generally speaking, we don’t know or understand from where it is we’ve come as a nation… which has given the opposition huge opportunity to effect its own brand of hope and change. But we’ll change all that.
If we really understood our founding documents, both we and our elected leaders would never lend legitimacy to any form of government-run healthcare. It wouldn’t even be up for debate… and it shouldn’t! Its premise is simply unconstitutional and it is diametrically opposed to what our founding fathers fought for, sacrificed for, believed in, and penned. Almost no one in the USA seems to care that it is simply unconstitutional.
Many of our own leaders and lawmakers don’t know our Constitution. I’m willing to bet many of them haven’t even read it.
However, we do have some great Lawmakers and public figures from the right… who are fighting the good fight against healthcare… God bless them… I’ve read their emails… I’ve seen them on the House floor passionately fighting the details of government-run healthcare, such as rationing, degradation of quality, wait times, the increased tax burden, the crunch on small business, and so on…
But how often do you see our leaders simply fighting it on the grounds that it’s unconstitutional and that it kills freedom?
My problem is this: there is a sinister agenda behind health care legislation… the practical health care ramifications in and of themselves are serving only as decoys, distractions from the larger agenda of implementing healthcare: that agenda being complete government control of the citizen… a reversal of the relationship between citizen and state… the creation of a weak and pathetic nanny state… in a nutshell, it’s the ultimate shoe-in for freedom-choking Marxism.
We have so many high-minded lawmakers trying to push this through… and our President… and they have no idea… or they just don’t care… about our heritage… about the lives that were lost and sacrifices made to birth this great nation… and definitely don’t share the worldview of our founding fathers. I’m not going to sit back and watch while our current leaders trample and destroy what our beloved founding fathers toiled and sacrificed so much for.
Our leaders need to get their eyes off of the decoy and instead, grab a copy of the Constitution, stand up with it, and tell everyone within shouting distance that they will fight to defend our freedoms outlined in this precious document. They need to be fighting to Kill the Bill! NO negotiating details of healthcare legislation… it only legitimizes healthcare as inevitable and forthcoming law. By doing so, they are telling the rest of us that it’s a done deal in some form. I can’t buy that. WE can kill the bill.
You know this, but it bears repeating: Our nation’s future… Your freedom and mine and that of your children and grandchildren… all depend on every one of us in this room. Your personal, active involvement is critical. Even if you’ve never been active in politics or public policy before, that’s okay. A year ago I was in those same shoes! Start today. Right now, at this moment, we’re still free… let’s use that freedom to shift the tide back. We the people can do this.

It used to be that we could be “active” by faithfully voting each election season. But no more… we must be vigilant year round to affect the kind of reversal we need.
5 THINGS YOU CAN DO TO TAKE OUR NATION BACK
1) Help the tea party organizers build an effective grassroots group right here in Teller County. Build your network and stay connected.
2) Inform and educate yourselves. Get a copy of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution. Read them so you know what it is you’re defending. There are many good books available to help you understand them, check my blog for a listing.
3) We need a pool of solid conservative candidates to run in upcoming elections. Consider running.
4) Mobilize: Many ways to do it…too many to list here… but be heard…. Act… share….
– Write letters to the editor
– Call lawmakers when necessary
– Respond to alerts and pass the information to others
– Etc…
5) Go viral and Build the network! Remember the vision: to take our country back starting right here where the battle began… redefine that Colorado model into one that takes it all back for freedom

Right now, as I speak, our lawmakers are debating health care. The vote is scheduled for 5pm EST. We’re gonna kill the bill in the House tonight… but even so… the battle is far from over. Over in the Senate, Harry Reid has a few tricks up his sleeve to try passing health care even without a House version.
Not only will we continue fighting national healthcare, but soon the battle is going to intensify at a very local level. The liberal majority of our Colorado State legislature is already working on bringing socialism to our beautiful state… starting in January they’re going to try pushing socialized medicine on us at the state level… they’re calling it Cover Colorado. We need to be ready to fight and we’ll win.
In conclusion… Something to keep in mind… On June 28, 1787, during our nation’s Constitutional Convention, it didn’t look like a Constitution would ever be born. The Convention delegates were in discord… they seemed ready to give up and go home. And then Mr. Ben Franklin stood up and pointed out the limits of human wisdom… and then pointed to the need for divine wisdom… and declared his belief that “God governs in the affairs of men.” They pulled together and birthed our Constitution. Ladies and gentlemen, God still governs in the affairs of men. We must earnestly and humbly seek His blessing and favor on us and our nation to win this battle.
There are threats to our freedom all around… they are unprecedented and can be overwhelming. But we can’t be afraid or let ourselves feel hopeless. If we allow that, we’ve given the left a psychological chokehold over us that paralyzes and prevents freedom from thriving. There is real hope in Truth… truth in our founding principles that only we the people can deliver… Let’s revitalize our belief in the power of a united front of informed, prepared citizens… in the power of you! Remind everyone… our Declaration of Independence states that it is from the consent of the governed that our government derives its powers. Never forget that.

Another convention of angry and clueless white people stormed into Washington, DC the other day, determined to destroy the type of health care reform that – if it goes into effect – will surely save the lives of most of the protesters who were in attendance (or their loved ones). It was the sort of weird, indescribable spectacle that makes the train-wreck of American politics (not to mention the got-busting stupidity of so many Americans) such a perverse delight to behold these days. Let’s face it: crazy people are always loads of fun to watch – and the knuckleheads who showed up in Washington last week didn’t disappoint.
At least one person held up a huge sign that showed a pile of bodies, victims of the European holocaust of the thirties and forties. Above this gruesome reminder of humanity’s capacity for evil were the words:
NATIONAL SOCIALIST HEALTH CARE – DACHAU, GERMANY, 1945
Isn’t that sweet? That seems to be quite a popular thing to do these days – equating anything connected with this administration and this president to Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. It kind of makes you wonder, doesn’t it? But the highlight of the day (for my money anyway) was Congressman John Boehner. He held up a copy of what he claimed was his own personal copy of the Constitution and proceeded to quote from “it”:
“We hold these truths to be self-evident – that all men are created equal.”
That’s not from the Constitution, Johnny. That’s from the Declaration of Independence – which was written thirteen years earlier! Were we able to go back in time to 1966 – when I was in the third grade – I could have told you that then, too. When we’ve gotten to a point where our elected representatives can’t even get basic American history right, we’re in, as Harry Truman liked to say, “one hell of a fix.”

Tell me, Tom: why is it that you leftists call everyone who disagrees with you “angry white people”? The irony of that, of course, is that you’re an angry white person, too.
And a white male no less. Be careful, Tom. You’re just along for the ride. Socialist revolutions eat their young. Just ask Trotsky or Roehm. You see, it doesn’t matter whether the socialists are “national-” or “marxist-leninist” the game is the same.
Nor does it matter whether the end is Dachau or the Gulag–it’s the same there, too.

One interesting trend I have noticed is that “leftists” consistently have to resort to name calling and insults, rather than engage in an educated and factual debate.
Just because conservative Americans have the courage and conviction to push back on direct violations of our Constitution, does not make us “angry and clueless white people”. There are many people of ALL races who are speaking up against the tyranny and corruption in Washington.
We are blessed to live in this country that was founded on FREEDOM. Many people thoughout our history have died defending our liberty. Supporting and defending our inalienable rights is not only the ultimate act of Patriotism, it is also the duty of our elected officials.
If you find freedom to be such an offensive concept, you are quite welcome – and free – to leave and find another country that embraces your views. YOU are the clueless one, Tom! GOD BLESS AMERICA!
